Holy Cold!

Even growing up in Michigan, I am sick of being cold. I am a baby when it comes to cold - I hate being cold. I am sure you are all old enough to remember a day so cold the snot froze your nose together for a second. My daughter doesn't believe me, she thinks that can't happen. But, I am sure some of you can back me up on this one. It was -1 this morning and my car heater blower decided it was too cold to work. Fortunately it started working a few blocks down the road. My dad always said he would rather have cold because you can always put more clothes on, but can only take so much off when it is hot. I would still rather have it nice a warm. When he wore a winter coat and gloves you KNEW it was cold enough to freeze your nose shut. I would be all wrapped up with scarf, mittens, hat and 6 layers under my coat and he would have on an insulated vest and rolled up shirt sleeves - crazy man! It is different now, he wears long sleeves and a coat. It is still strange to see that.

So here we are...February 2008, who knew we would be fortunate enough to still have him around. I am taking him out to dinner Saturday night if he is up to it. He says he's feeling ok, but I have not seen him for a few weeks. We were supposed to go out there a couple weekends ago for my nephew's birthday, but the weather was too bad for an hour drive down all country roads.

I know Dad will have a CT scan next month sometime, I would assume it will be before the 21st because he has an appt with the oncologist that day.

So I have nothing more to say. I am in winter mode - crabby and cold - so I am being a hermit.

Thought of the Blog (really its from my Zen daily calendar):
"When it's cold, water freezes into ice; when it's warm, ice melts into water. Similarily, when you're confused, essence freezes into mind; when you are enlightened, mind into essence."
-Muso Kokushi

Have a good day and think warm thoughts!
