Over the weekend...

We went camping with dad from Saturday to Monday at Hungry Horse. He had a chemo treatment friday morning, it went ok. We waited on Sunday to see if he would get sick or not because that is when it hit him last time. He did not vomit from the chemo, so that was good. The new oral med seems to be helping.

Overall, it was a mixed time. It was fun to camp and hang out with him, but difficult to see how this is taking its toll. He is having more pain in his back and in his hips. He is also having to suppliment more with the oral pain medication than he was before. He is doing well on letting people help him, which I know is hard for him. He would sit in the chair for a couple of hours, then lay down for a while. I'm sad to say that if I didn't know him, I would have thought he was 20 years older than he is. He is not sure on his feet and I thought he was going to fall in my lap on Saturday night. He is very weak. All of that is hard to see as you all know Dad has always been big and strong.

On the good side, he still has not his humor! He theatened to "unzip the window" - I said something smart-ass to him through the screen when he was laying down, so he says "don't make me unzip this!" - it was funny. He made pancakes on Monday morning for us and he even made an "e" for Emi. She thought that was great!

So, I wish I had more to tell, but I don't. I have to call and check on him tonight, so I will update in the morning.
