Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving comes to us out of the prehistoric dimness, universal to all ages and all faiths. At whatever straws we must grasp, there is always a time for gratitude and new beginnings.

Clinical Trial

Below is the link for the clinical trial the Dr. was thinking Dad would be a good candidate for when the time comes:

More good news!

So, we went to the Oncologist's office on Friday. The results of the CT scan were positive - some slight decrease in size of tumors scanned and no new tumors. I have to say this is all better than average results from the Chemo. So now we are still in the "wait & see" phase. The Dr. said the caner could start growing in a month or in six months, nobody knows for sure. He mentioned a few drugs they would try when that happens, but he "didn't have time" to repeat all three of them to me so I could post some info on them. I have the name of one clinical trial drug which I will post some info on later. He does not have to have the hemoglobin med as his counts are good. He will have to have the bone hardener every 4 weeks and another CT scan is scheduled for sometime mid-late January. That is all I know right now.

Dad is feeling good, he was here Saturday fixing some "disturbing" wiring issue he found in my basement.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU FOR ALL THE PRAYERS AND GOOD WISHES!!

Mr Timmer goes to Washington...

We are taking Dad to Washington DC to see the Smithsonian. It's one of the things he has mentioned wanting to do. So we are going at the end of the month. I will post pictures and commentary when we get back.

He is still scheduled to have a CT scan on Monday as far as I know. I will post results when we get them. He was over last Thursday doing some work at my house and for dinner - he looked well and said he felt good. I may see him this Thursday again when he comes out to work for a few things. He has definately been keeping himself out of trouble! busy, busy, busy - just like normal.

Sorry for the short blog, I am pretty sick and I need to go back to bed for a while.

Thought of the blog:

When Heaven is about to confer a great office on any man, it first exercises his mind with suffering, and his sinews and bones with toil.
