We went to visit Sunday. Dad was looking well and said he felt well. He was concentrating on the race, he likes nascar. That was about it. I wish I had something else to say.
Please still keep him in your thoughts.

Now we wait...

Dad has his last Chemo treatment Friday. I took this picture on Oct 6th - the nurse was teasing him and taped his pinky finger out straight.
I check on him Monday and he said he is a little sore, which is normal after chemo. He is "apprehensive" about what will happen now. They will do a CT scan on November 13th, I guess if he starts having some significant syptoms before that they may move it up. Until then all we do is wait and enjoy the time we have.
I dont know how much I will update between now and then, so feel free to post a comment if you speak to him.
Thought of the blog:
Here is the test to find whether your mission on Earth is finished: if you're alive, it isn't.

Please continue with the good thoughts and prayers, they have obviously done some good.

A few more things
In addition to what I posted already.
His hemo is getting low, so it is good that he has a break. I have to get the last few blood test numbers to compare. I will try to do that within the next week.
I just want to thank everyone for their continued prayers and well-wishes - I would like to think they had something to do with the good news. So keep it up!
And now the quote of the blog...
Today is absolutely today.
Today is not yesterday.
Today is not tomorrow.

More GREAT news!
The MRI was negative, the cancer is not in his brain. His oncologist also said he is above average with how he and the cancer have responded to the chemo. He hasn't had much nausea and the chemo isn't making him near as sick and tired as it did at first. He is working 8-9 hours Monday - Friday and some Saturdays. He gained a pound which is much much better than losing. He is eating his normal diet, much to the dismay of the noses around him. He is on the last round of this type of chemo that he can have. After his last treatment next Friday, they will schedule another CT scan to see if there are any more changes in the tumors from the last one about a month ago. He can also stop a couple of the meds that helped with Chemo side effects.
Dad will have to take at least two months off from treatment and he will have to have a different type if and when he starts back up. From what the Dr. said everyone is different, some people take 2 months off and some take 6-9 months off so we don't know. When/if he starts treatment again will depend on a few factors: 1. a CT scan every two months to monitor the tumors, 2. type & severity of new or re-occuring symptoms, 3. the pain factor and of course 4. whether or not he wants to have more treatment. The Dr. said there was a clinical trial released this past week that Dad may be a good candidate for in a couple of months.
That is all for now. I just wanted to get something up because I know there are a lot of you that were waiting for the MRI results.

Clarification
It was a joke about the MRI results, we have not gottem any. Dad was kidding about it being negative - he was joking that his head was empty...ha ha.
We are still on for Friday at 2 to (hopefully) get results from the MRI. If I do not post anything before then, it is because there is nothing to report.
I did just speak to him and he is feeling well, he said if he wasn't on all the medication he wouldn't know he was sick.
Everybody cross your fingers for Friday and I will post what we hear as soon as I get to a computer.
